Up^Cycle bag #2011-06, a fun lined tote bag made from 2 vintage 1959 “Pillsbury’s Best” self-rising flour sacks and lined with a modern 1950’s housewife cartoon print cotton. Included is a 6″ zippered coordinated wristlet!
About the original flour sacks:
These are interesting. Instead of being made from either all cotton or paper these flour sacks are made from a treated cotton with the labels feeling like iron-on transfers, almost a stiff paper feel. These bags can’t be washed or the labels will come off (as they were designed to). They were printed in 1959 and have that great 1950’s look with the white, red & aqua color scheme.
